Workers United, Southern Region Records, 1980-2013, consist of contracts, grievances, negotiation materials, correspondence, constitutions and videotapes. Most of the material comes from the "Bi-County" area that overlaps northern North Carolina and southern Virginia, although other areas covered by the Southern Region of Workers Unite and its predecessors are documented.

Scope and Content of the Papers From the Collection:

The Papers, 1937-1970 (1974) of F. H. "Pug" King (1899-1974) are composed of correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs and artifacts illuminating his union and civic affairs. As Business Agent, 1938-1962, for IAM District Lodge 46, he participated in organizing campaigns and contract negotiations, as well as representing the District Lodge in court proceedings. Principal correspondents include the IAM, Federal Order of Eagles, Georgia Federation of Labor and Fulton County Court.

Scope and Content of the Subseries From the Sub-Series: The SCNA records contained a limited amount of separately filed photographs, including a number of files of prints reproduced in South Carolina Nursing and SCNA Newsletter, and many photos, most unidentified, of SCNA members and events, circa 1979-1984. The photograph collections include largely black-and-white and color photographs, but also include slides, negatives, and other photographic formats. The date range is approximately 1880-1990. Included are photographs of union members, leaders, and advocates performing day-to-day and union activities: work, strikes, marches, meetings, celebrations, ceremonies, contract signings, conventions, and presentations.
