Memphis (Tenn.)

The Memphis-Jackson Joint Board began as an administrative support unit for the smaller locals within its Southern region. The records contain correspondence, grievances, financial records and audits, organizing materials, periodicals, newsletters, leaflets, photographs, membership lists, convention materials, constitutions, and bylaws.

Memphis AFL-CIO Labor Council collection of Shirley Ayer manuscripts, 1967, consists of multiple versions of "Labor Is the Community: A Historical Sketch of the Workingman In Memphis, Tennessee, 1827-World War I" in typescript form.

The collection consists of 206 agreements, 1898-1974, between various system federations or local unions of railroad and transit workers and their employers.
