Historical Note About the International Typographical Union, Local 11 (Memphis, Tenn.)
At the third convention of journeymen printers, held in Cincinnati in 1852, the first national labor organization in America was launched, and Memphis Typographical Union was one of fourteen typographical associations that formed the National Typographical Union.
