Subseries 3.1 contains approximately 1,650 photographs, 3 photographic posters, and about 5,000 negative and contact sheets from the Office of Public Relations and the Department of Public Information. The images feature University staff, faculty, students, and administrators, as well as a variety of campus buildings, organizations, and events, documenting activities at Georgia State. The photographic posters in G1977-09 consist of two images of the library building under construction and an aerial view of Sparks Hall. A significant group of photographs of President Noah Langdale is found in G1983-13 and G1984-30. G1984-30, a large collection of more than 1,500 photographs, contains images of university activities grouped by topics that include individual pictures of faculty; students; buildings such as Sparks Hall and the Art and Music and Business Administration buildings; campus organizations such as WRAS, sororities and fraternities, and intramural sports; and events such as legislative breakfasts and Lenox Week. Most of the negatives and contact sheets include indexes; G1984-30 is organized alphabetically by topic. A list of individual accessions of photographs is provided below:
