Biography of Edwin D. Harrison

Edwin Davies Harrison was the sixth president of Georgia Tech, from 1957 to 1969. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the Navy until 1945. He then earned a master's in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1948, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1952. In the 1966, he acted in the role of mediator between the Atlanta Firefighters and the City of Atlanta.
