Historical Note
The Textile Workers Union of America (TWUA) resulted from a merger between the CIO faction of the United Textile Workers of America and the Textile Workers Organizing Committee and was chartered by the CIO in 1939. The TWUA merged with the American Federation of Hosiery Workers in 1965.
