Biographical Notes about Louis M. Nunn

Louie Matthew Nunn was a Savannah alderman, school board member and union official. He was a native of Mitchell and lived in Savannah. He worked as a business manager for the Carpenter's Union for 31 years. He served as a Savannah city alderman from 1962-1964. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 256, Alee Temple Shrine, the Bacon Park Senior Blitz and a Mason. He was a former member of Board of Public Education and had served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple and the Learners Sunday School Class. He was a past president of the Building Trades Council and was a lieutenant colonel, Aide De Camp on the governor's staff during the administration of S. Ernest Vandiver in 1959.

Louie Matthew Nunn was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 256 (Savannah, Georgia) and served as the local's business manager for 31 years. His papers include correspondence, invitations and programs, newspaper clippings, and speeches, 1956-1957.
