Scope and Content of the Records
The Records, 1949-1967, of Local 1965 (Tallahassee, Florida), International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers consist of correspondence, minutes, legal documents, and financial statements. Much of the correspondence is with IBEW Vice-President G. X. Barker. The minutes, some of which pertain to Sub-Local 624, and the correspondence contain information about apprenticeship training programs, administration of journeyman electrician examinations, entry of members into military service (the Korean War period), violations of working agreements by contractors; occasional disputes with other craft unions over work jurisdiction, and the fair apportionment of overtime work.

Abstract:
The collection consists of records of Local 1965 (Tallahassee, Fla.) of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers from 1949-1967. The records include correspondence (1953-1967) mainly with Vice-President G.X. Baxter, minutes (1953-1966), attendance ledgers (1956-1961), legal documents, financial documents (1956-1963), and minutes and attendance ledgers of the Sub-Local 624 (Tallahassee, Fla.). The records deal mainly with apprenticeship training programs, administration of journeyman electrician examinations, entry of members into military service, violations of working agreements by contractors, occasional disputes with other craft unions over work jurisdictions, and the fair apportionment of overtime work.
