Biography of Sam Williams

A longtime leader in the Atlanta business community, Sam Williams was president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for 17 years until his 2014 retirement. He was also president of Central Atlanta Progress, a partner at developer Portman Properties, and Research Atlanta's first staff member. Williams helped to create the Urban Studies Institute at Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, and serves as professor of practice and Assistant Director for External Affairs. He holds degrees from Harvard Business School and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
