Historical Note about the Transport Workers Union

The Transport Workers Union (TWU) was founded in 1934. It represents workers in several different transportation and service industries. The TWU is affiliated with the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the International Transport Workers Union (ITF). The TWU is organized on the international, industry type, and local levels.

Biographical Note about Gerald Green

Gerald Green worked for Delta Airlines from 1970 until his retirement in 2005 as a Ground Training Instructor in the Flight Operations Department. During the late 1990s his working group joined the Transport Workers Union as Local 567. Green was an active and vocal supporter of the TWU and a member of the Organizing Committee. His position on the committee allowed him access to both company and union documents during the organization process. Gerald Green is a GSU alum and former faculty member.
