Scope and Contents of the Collection
Tom Ducy collection of International Association of Machinists [IAM] material contains an IAM constitution, 1913; minutes of IAM Lodge 47, also known as the Pioneer Lodge (Commerce City, Colo.), 1889-1891; and a jurisdictional agreement between IAM District 9 Local Lodge 126 (Ill.) and a Machinery Movers and Riggers Union of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers local, part of a collective bargaining agreement with the Curtiss-Wright Corporation Airplane Division, St. Louis Plant, 1942.

Historical Note
Tom Ducy joined the International Association of Machinists (IAM) in St. Louis in 1950, and eventually served as its second-highest ranking officer. He was a steward and organizer for the IAM in Colorado, and was an administrator in its Great Lakes and Midwest Territories. A longtime member of IAM's Executive Council, he was elected General Secretary-Treasurer in 1987 and served until 1993. The IAM dates to 1888. One of the first locals in Colorado, National Association of Machinists (precursor to the IAM) lodge 47 (Commerce City, Colo.), first met in 1889 and was chartered in 1890. Once known as Pioneer Lodge 47
, the local is now known as Rocky Mountain Lodge 47. Chartered in 1902, IAM District 9 has offices in the St. Louis area and is composed of locals in Illinois and Missouri.
