Historical Note
The Wood, Wire, and Metal Lathers' International Union was founded in 1899 and merged with The United Brotherhood of Carpenters in 1979. By the 1940s, Local 234 (Atlanta, Ga.) was one of the few racially integrated union locals in the city.
