Political and campaign materials: President Ford issues book, 1976

This subseries contains materials related solely to Usery's tenure as Secretary of Labor from February 1976 until the end of January 1977. This material begins with the duties of the Secretary of Labor and organization of the Department, plus Usery's confirmation hearing transcript and swearing-in ceremony information. Included in these materials are folders of congratulatory letters on Usery's appointment as Secretary of Labor, the Secretary's meetings with staff from March through December, 1976, as well as political, campaign and transition materials related to Gerald Ford's campaign for the presidency in November and the change from a Republican to Democratic administration in January 1977.
