Scope and Content of the Series
President Nixon appointd Bill Usery as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Labor-Management Relations and Labor-Management Negotiations from 1969 until 1973 when he was appointed as Director, Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. President Ford then appointed Usery Secretary of Labor in 1976, a post he held until 1977. This series consists of materials documenting Usery's service with the US Government during the administrations of Presidents Nixon and Ford.
