Scope and Content of Part Two
The Records, 1945-1973, of E. Leon Stamey consist primarily of subject files on various union organizing drives in which he participated as a National Field Representative of the AFL-CIO. Stamey worked in comprehensive AFL-CIO campaigns in Atlanta and Tampa, with the Laborer's International Union in Columbia, S.C., with the Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union in Little Rock, and with the Laundry and Dry Cleaning Workers Union and Office and Professional Employees Union in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Records include some trade union periodicals and pamphlets concerning various aspects of American unionism, as well as some personal papers that illustrate Stamey's work as an active lay member of the United Methodist Church.
