Scope and Content of Part One
Activity reports, 1969-1972, of AFL-CIO organizing campaigns in Atlanta and Tampa, involving representatives Dave Herman of the Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Employees Union, and Fred Halstead of the Textile Workers Union of America, and reports of a boycott of the General Electric Company in Atlanta, comprise the heart of these papers. Speech material, correspondence, and printed material record particularly organizing developments of the American Federation of Government Employees in Arkansas and Oklahoma, 1963-1964, the Office Employees International Union in Wisconsin, 1964, and the activities of other unions in South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia, 1966-1970.
