Scope and Contents of the Subseries

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries is devoted mainly to documents, correspondence, research materials, and notes relating to Dr. Fowlkes' academic year as a Fulbright scholar at the Open University in the United Kingdom in 1985-1986. During the year, Dr. Fowlkes examined the involvement of British women in feminist groups in a series of interviews. This research resulted in a BBC television program "Opening Doors," in which selected interviews are featured and in which Dr. Fowlkes herself is interviewed. The script to this program is included in this series. A small amount of research notes and other materials on British women collected after 1985-1986 is also included here.

See also Series V, Subseries A for Fowlkes' paper that draws upon the Fulbright research, "Feminist Consciousness of Englishwomen," which was presented at the American Political Science Association annual meeting in September 1987.
