Scope and Content of the Series
This series documents Dr. Fowlkes' wide-ranging professional activities in Political Science and Women's Studies associations and in other organizations outside Georgia State University. Documented here are the awards, particularly her service as a Senior Fulbright Scholar at The Open University (1985-1986); her grants, notably a grant received from the Women's Education Equity Act Program (1979-1982; with Charlotte McClure); and her service to associations, especially her leadership of the Task Force on Women and American Government in the American Political Science Association (1981-1986), and her coordination of the National Women's Studies Association Quilt Project (1987).
