Scope and Contents of the Subseries

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries consists of Dr. Fowlkes' files on Women's Studies, mainly from 1984 to 1994, spanning the period between the establishment of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree concentration and the establishment of the Women's Studies Institute. These files, which are arranged alphabetically, contain materials relating to various aspects of the Women's Studies program, including publicity materials for events, correspondence with guest lecturers and speakers, memos and flyers, and information on Women's Studies programs at other institutions. A significant portion of this subseries contains notes and draft versions of the Women's Studies newsletters; another series of files concerns the Women's Studies awards from 1990 to 1995. Notable are the folders containing information and programs on "Difficult Dialogues," an annual conference sponsored by Women's Studies and others in honor of Women's History Month.
