Scope and Contents note
Scope and Content of the 1982 Addition (L1982-34): The Papers, 1932-1986 (bulk 1961-1985), contain the office files of J.W. Giles relating to his work as Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, Press Secretary, and Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 84; Secretary of Georgia State AFl-CIO; OSHA Liaison Officer; and Director of AFSCME District Council No. 14. These files include correspondence between Giles and other officials and union members, training materials, draft articles written by Giles for the Journal of Labor, minutes, constitutions, bylaws, contract agreements, Giles’ daily planners, reports, newspaper clippings, legislative material, photographs, certificates and awards. Also included are audio/visual materials and artifacts.
