Scope and Content of the 1979 Addition (L1979-21): The Papers, 1978-1979, of J.W. Giles consist of correspondence, one set of minutes, an article on industrial psychogenic illnesses, and news releases and press conference transcripts from the national office of the AFL-CIO. The minutes are of an Area Directors, U.S. Department of Labor, meeting held in Daytona Beach, Florida, January 23-25, 1979. The news releases and press conference transcripts cover all the topics of concern to the AFL-CIO. The correspondence includes letters to Giles from Georgia senators Herman Talmadge and Sam Nunn regarding legislation on medicare and small business development.
