Unidentified ledgers, 1934-1935
Scope and Content of the Series
Series III contains several types of log books kept by WSB that document such topics as the names of persons and groups who performed on the air and the dates and times that they appeared, and information on technical functioning and maintenance of the transmitting equipment. The "Official Log," which exists for the years 1922-1924, contains a combination of program listings and articles clipped from newspapers, technical information, and transcriptions of radio "conversations" between engineers at WSB and ham radio operators. The "Technical Logs" and "Chain Logs" (1925-1931) contain comments on the quality of the transmissions and on difficulties with or adjustments to the equipment. "Program Logs" (1922-1940) are daily listings of performers and programs scheduled for broadcast. The one "Date Log" (1946-1947) appears to contain information regarding dates and places of performances for which WSB performers were booked (e.g. high school dances, concerts at local churches, etc.).
