Major topics include Ginger Mercer's stage career and beaux in the 1920s, when she performed under the stage name "Ginger Meehan"; the courtship of Johnny Mercer and Ginger Meehan; Johnny Mercer's career; Mercer's repayment, in 1955, of a large debt remaining from the failure of his father's business in 1927; and Mercer's final illness and death (1975-1976).
