Scope and Contents of the Subseries
The folders of sub-series B contain song lyrics, obituaries, correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, and photocopies from various Mercer family members. Examples of the contents of this sub-series include newspaper clippings on the 1977 Savannah Arts Festival; correspondence from Johnny Mercer to Dorothy Mercer, wife of Johnny's brother, Walter; and a telegraph to Johnny from his Savannah "Gang" dated April 10, 1963 possibly congratulating him on winning the 1962 Oscar for Best Song.
