Scope and Content of the Collection

From the Collection:

This collection consists of a copy of the script, three programs, and a review of this production from the Los Angeles Times of December 10, 1997. The script, which was written by Susan Clines and Michael Feinstein, includes biographical anecdotes, stories about Mercer and his collaborators, and discussions of Mercer's unique abilities as a lyricist. In addition to a list of the songs performed, the program provides a short biography of Mercer with photographs, and biographical sketches of each of the performers. The review by Don Heckman mentions particularly the fine performances of "I Thought About You," "Spring, Spring, Spring," "Midnight Sun," and "Moon River."
