Scope and Content of the Series
The "Women and the Constitution" symposium, a two-day conference held in February 1988, commemorated the contributions of women in leadership roles in the United States. The conference was attended by 1,500 women and more than 100 speakers from the United States and ten foreign countries. It received an award from the Bicentennial Leadership Project of the Council for the Advancement of Citizenship.
Included are planning and funding materials leading up to the conference, as well as speeches, photographs, and press coverage from the conference.
