Series I, Charter, Bylaws and ledger books, 1945-2002, begins with the lodge's original charter issued on May 15,1945. The bylaws consist of one booklet dated March 3, 1966. The ledger books contain minutes from meetings of Local 1650's Foundation, 1963-2002; its Machinists Non-Partisan League chapter, 1965-2001; its officers, 1948-1999; and its stewards, 1949-2002; as well as the locals' regular meetings, 1945-1996. Also included in the series are the Officers' Motions and log books which record officers signing in who are visiting from out of town and a log book tracking equipment borrowed from the union. Foundation minutes initially concern plans to build the local's lodge, and later record discussions regarding additions, maintenance and finances. Some correspondence and floor plans and elevations pertaining to the lodge are also found in the Foundation ledger books. Other meeting topics include daily operations, union dues and discussions of pay and benefits.
