Scope and Contents of the Sound Recording
In this recording, the program Press Conference on WXYZ, Detroit, MI, with guest Luther C. Steward, President of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE). Three editors of the Detroit Free Press ask Steward questions about the NFFE, federal employees, and the problems of big government. Steward debunks myths about federal employees receiving higher compensation than those in private industry and about the perceived inefficiency of government in comparison to big business, especially taking into consideration the legislation that impacts have government works. He also refutes the idea that most NFFE members must be Democrats.
