She also discusses jobs she held before becoming a nurse, segregation and integration at the Grady Hospital School of Nursing, and the nursing shortage caused by World War II.

Interviewed by Traci Drummond. Dixon discusses her career path and the difficulties she had in going back to school for her Master's degree. She also discusses the accreditation process and how the Grady School of Nursing lost its accreditation as well as the associate degree program and how that affected the enrollment rate of the school of nursing. She explains how that and many other factors lead to the closing of the Grady School of Nursing and how her life changed afterwards.
