Historical Note about Retail Clerks International Union, Local 1063

Originally known as Retail Clerks National Protective Union, the Retail Clerks International Association was chartered by the American Federation of Labor in 1890. It existed as an independent entity until its 1979 merger with the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union, which created the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Retail Clerks International Union, Local 1063 was located in College Park, Georgia. There is some confusion as to whether this local is officially located in Atlanta or its suburb College Park, or whether it's official location switches over time.
