Abstract: The Atlanta Gay Center, later known as the Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Center or simply "The Center," performed many functions throughout its lifespan from 1976 into the early 2000s by providing community support groups, sponsoring events, staffing the Helpline telephone counseling service, providing STD tests through its clinic, and publishing The News.
