Labor union locals

The records of Atlanta Graphic Communications Local Union No. 8 [bulk date 1940s-1980s] include agreements, negotiations, financial documents, contracts, training materials, and election materials. A number of predecessors of the local are represented in the records.

The Graphic Communications International Union, Local 8-M (Atlanta, Ga.) records consist of minutes, attendence rolls, reports, bylaws, election materials, photographs, newspaper clippings, and correspondence, 1922-1977. Local 8-M represents workers in the printing industry in Atlanta and the surrounding area.

Graphic Communications International Union, Local 96B (Atlanta, Ga.) records contains contracts, negotiations, agreements, proposals, settlements, apprenticeship material, correspondence, grievances, arbitration, court records, photographs, and audiovisual items, circa 1960s-1990s.

The records of Graphic Communications International Union, Local 527-S (Atlanta, Georgia) document negotiations, contracts and agreements, proposals, settlements, grievances, and arbitrations, 1970s-2000s. The records represent activities throughout the southeast and relations with assorted businesses and government organizations.

The collection consists of papers of Henry W. Chandler, secretary, Georgia Federation of Labor and president, Atlanta Federation of Trades, from 1918-1973. Includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, and printed materials relating to Chandler's work for those and other organizations.

International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1460 (Marietta, Ga.) received its charter on January 9, 1963. Its records, 1962-1973, are composed of general subject files, correspondence and financial documents.

The collections consists of records of Local 1492 (Atlanta, Ga.) of the International Association of Fire Fighters from 1963-1974. Includes minutes, correspondence, financial documents, legal documents, printed material, and membership lists. Topics include union activities, wage disparities between fire fighters and law enforcement officers, and fluctuating membership.

International Association of Machinists, Local Lodge 6 (Galveston, Texas), was founded in the late 1880s and merged with Local Lodge 1786 in July 2005. The lodge represented workers in a variety of industries in and around Galveston. Its records, 1929-1962, include ledgers, dues books, and artifacts.

IAMAW Local Lodge 37 was chartered on July 11, 1899, and dissolved in the late 1980s. Its records relate to the day-to-day activities of a major New Orleans union and its relationship to the International headquarters, and include constitutions, bylaws, minutes, correspondence, agreement reports, financial records, membership cards and artifacts.

Erie machinists initially were chartered as an American Federation of Labor affiliate, then reorganized as National Association of Machinists' Local Lodge 101 (both in 1890). The local was re-chartered in August 1896, then re-organized in May 1901. The Records, 1896-1916, of Lodge 101 are composed principally of minutes and dues records.

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) Local Lodge 174 (Washington, D.C.), "Columbia Lodge," is one of the oldest Machinists' lodges in North America. IAMAW Local Lodge 174 (Washington, D.C.) records consists of photographs, pins, financial ledgers and documents from the early portion of the lodge's history.

The International Association of Machinists Local Lodge No. 1767 was chartered in 1961 in Sarasota, Florida. The collection mainly consists of contract files, which includes negotiations and correspondence.

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District Lodge 751 organized in Seattle, Washington, in 1935. It represents employees at Boeing Company. Its collection (1970s-2000s) includes digital files of documents, news clippings, periodicals, audio, photographs, and correspondence.

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local Lodge 2 is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Its records consist of correspondence between employers and the local, administrative files and various records, financial records and statements, artifacts, speeches and speech materials, newspaper clippings, strike information, and various subject files.

The Records, 1943-1972, of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local 291 (Anniston, Alabama) consist primarily of correspondence, financial documents and minutes. The collection includes records of the organizing activity of District Lodge 178, 1953-1969, and those of the routine operations of defunct Lodge 1677 (Anniston, Gadsden, Talladega, Ala.), 1961-1963.
