Abstract

Charles H. Martin collection on Angelo Herndon, circa 1932-circa 1937, was created by Martin while researching his The Angelo Herndon Case and Southern Justice (LSU Press, 1976) and consists primarily of legal records. Angelo Herndon, a labor organizer convicted in 1932 on charges of attempting to incite insurrection in Atlanta, was freed in 1937 when the U.S. Supreme Court found the Georgia insurrection law unconstitutional.

The records of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 84, 1923-1986 (bulk 1971-1986), consist primarily of the administrative, office, and reference files of J.W. Giles, documenting the day-to-day operations of the union as well as Giles' interactions with the executive and international boards of the IBEW.

Abstract: Randy Razook was a member of the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (PATCO) and worked for the Eastern region in the state of Massachusetts. He served as president of Local 229, Hyannis Tower and Choirboy for Clusters 28 and 29 of the Eastern region, organizing all striking controllers in this area. Abstract: Ron Elliott was a member of PATCO (Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization) and worked as an air traffic controller for 11 years. Elliott served as a Choir Boy for Local 101 and the Atlanta cluster, organizing all striking controllers in the Metro Atlanta area. When PATCO went on strike in 1981, Elliott and many other PATCO members were prosecuted for participating in and claiming the right to strike against the U.S. Government.
