The AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education (COPE) Area 3 covers the region comprising Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia. The Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America, Local 525 (Asheville, N.C.) Records, 1957-1975, consist of correspondence, financial reports, minutes, newspaper clippings, National Labor Relations Board case material, and contracts illuminating the activities of Local 525 in its dealings with numerous companies, primarily in North Carolina.

Harold McIver collection of AFL-CIO Industrial Union Department sound recordings, 1973-1979, undated, includes speeches by AFL-CIO productions and speeches by Harold McIver and management spokespeople. The recordings concern the J. P. Stevens and Company strike and unionization vote, United Steelworkers of America, District 37, and other labor topics.

Harry Moore was an organizer and the Director of Legislation for the Glass Bottle Blowers Association of the United States and Canada. His papers contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, circulars, flyers, leaflets, contracts, pamphlets, and company advertisements, 1962-1970.

The collection consists of 121 agreements, 1937-2000, between various local unions of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and numerous utilities, municipalities, manufacturers, and other entities.

James Festus Barrett (1882-1959) was a union activist for the American Federation of Labor. His papers, 1920, 1937-1959, consist of files related to AFL national officers, state federations, activity reports, organizing campaigns, and subject and name files.

Mark Show papers, 2008-2017, reflect his role as financial secretary in International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Local 322 (Charlotte, N.C.), and his participation in IATSE District 7 and the Southern Piedmont Labor Council of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO. The papers financial records, contracts, training materials, and reports, notes, and agendas state, district, and international conventions.

The collection consists of 40 agreements, 1951-1976, between various local unions of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America or the United Packinghouse Workers of America and retail, manufacturing, or other entities.

The North Carolina State Federation of Labor was organized in 1907 and held annual conventions until 1957. The North Carolina State AFL-CIO was then organized in 1958. The collection consists of administrative files, 1945, 1949-1981, and also includes material regarding the North Carolina gubernatorial campaign of Wilbur Hobby, president of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO.

The collection consists of 161 agreements, 1941-1972, between various local unions of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and employers.

The Southeastern Building Trade Conference is an umbrella organization uniting building trade unions from the southeastern states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The Southeastern Building Trade Conference records include financial records, correspondence, minutes, and resolutions.

The collection consists of 175 agreements, 1939-1976, between various local unions of the Textile Workers Union of America and manufacturers.
