Abstract: Andrew P. McElroy, Sr. (1863-1921) immigrated to America from Scotland in 1882. A skilled stonecutter, he settled in Atlanta where he was in charge of all stonework in the building of the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary from 1903 to 1917.
