Welcome to Special Collections & Archives

About Us

Our collections document southern labor, Georgia State University, music, radio broadcasting, pulp literature, women’s rights, gender and sexuality, and social change. The holdings include books, manuscript collections, digital collections, and materials documenting Atlanta and the Southeastern United States, as well as Georgia State University. We also hold over 8 million photographs primarily documenting 20th century Atlanta as well as a rare book collection focusing on the urban south. These collections also document the human experience through our various oral history projects associated with each collecting area.
