Biographical Note

A Georgia native, W. Wilson Noyes, Jr. (1916-1997) received his library training at Emory University. In 1947, he was appointed librarian at the Atlanta Extension Center of the University System of Georgia, the institution that evolved into Georgia State University (GSU). Noyes served in GSU's library administration for 34 years, retiring as assistant librarian on June 30, 1981.
