Historical Note

The office of Vice President for Urban Affairs at Georgia State University was created in June 1973 and dissolved in September 1981. At various times, the Urban Affairs Vice President oversaw Development, Public Information, Alumni Affairs, Continuing Education, the Atlanta Urban Corps, Urban Community Service, and Inter-University Urban Cooperation. Edmund W. Hughes served as Vice President for Urban Affairs during the existence of the office.
