Scope and Content of the Records From the Collection: Series I consists of minutes of weekly staff meetings and reports, March 5-July 4, 1974. Strategies were discussed and planned to obtain the removal of nonunion grapes, lettuce and Gallo products from local grocery stores. These stores were targets for leafletting and for picketing and boycotts. Scope and Content of the Collection From the Collection:

The collection of Jesse Walton, 1949-1950, contains clippings and a few leaves of correspondence describing the Atlanta Transit Union, Local 732 strikes, 1949-1950, the Southern Railway Strike, 1950 and Atlanta's reaction to the strikes. It also covers Walton's political contest against Hoke Smith in 1950. Included are clippings on the other major strikes in the South.
