Scope and Content of the Papers

The papers, 1959-1981, of Herb Green consist of thirty photographs of Green (also pictured are Andrew Young, Lane Kirkland, Sen. Walter Mondale, and Sen. Jim Sasser), eight newspaper articles about Green's activities, and one pamphlet on legislation regulating the metal content of automobiles manufactured in the United States.

Biography of Herb Green

Herb Green began his career in the labor movement shortly after being employed in the General Motors plant in Doraville, Georgia, in 1948, by serving on the union's collective bargaining committee. He is a longtime International Representative of the United Automobile Workers of America, a member of the Gwinnett County Democratic Executive Committee, and a member of the Board of Review of the Employment Security Agency.
