Cooleemee Historical Association Collection, circa 1899-before 1905, 1934-1950s?, 1989-1993, comprises papers and other materials pertaining to the history of Cooleemee, North Carolina, including the Erwin Cotton Mill, Textile Workers Union of America Local 251, the career of Harold Foster, and the Cooleemee Historical Association. The collection consists of a scrapbook, 60 photographs, three videocasettes, copies of company records, a poster, a line drawing of the Erwin Cotton Mill, maps, issues of the Cooleemee History Loom, and a commemorative newspaper from 1992.

Historical Note

Cooleemee, North Carolina, a company town in Davie County, was where Erwin Cotton Mills No. 3 operated 1898-1969. Former labor organizers Jim Rumley and Lynn Rumley founded the Cooleemee Historical Association and the Textile Heritage Center there.
