Over the course of the 20th century the machinists moved from representing railroad workers to machinists and others working for airlines and the aerospace industry.

Local Lodge 33 represents workers in the Omaha, Nebraska area. The largest industries included in these records were the Crown Packaging factory (which packaged food like Spam), Mid-America Webpress, Omaha World-Herald Company, and various over the road trucking companies.
