Scope and Contents of the Records
Production and research materials created or assembled for the documentary film Johnny Mercer: The Dream's On Me, released in 2009, comprise the collection. Sound recordings, audiovisual recordings, reference material including photographs, and production records, 1912-2013, document newly-created interviews and performances as well as historical material gathered for review or excerpted in the finished film.

Historical Note
The Johnny Mercer Foundation worked with the Turner Classic Movies network, Rhapsody Productions, executive producer Clint Eastwood and director Bruce Ricker to create Johnny Mercer: The Dream's On Me, a 100-minute documentary on the life and music of songwriter Johnny Mercer, released in 2009. The film featured historical footage of Mercer (1909-1976) and artists performing his songs, as well as new interviews and performances.

The Johnny Mercer Foundation worked with the Turner Classic Movies network, Rhapsody Productions, executive producer Clint Eastwood and director Bruce Ricker to create Johnny Mercer: The Dream's On Me, a 100-minute documentary on the life and music of songwriter Johnny Mercer, released in 2009. The collection includes production and research materials created or assembled for the film, 1912-2013, including newly-created interviews and performances as well as historical material.

- Series II: Stock Footage, 1951-2009
- Series III: Films, 1927-2013
- Series IV: TV Shows, 1937-2009
- Series V: Radio Shows, 1936-2006
- Series VI: Interviews, 1936-2009
- Series VII: Performances, 1912-2009
- Series VIII: Manuscripts and Photographs, 2003-2009

Donated by the Johnny Mercer Foundation, 1 November 2009 (M2009-08).
Separated Materials
Some commercially released materials have been separated out. These included 7 CDs, 4 DVDs, and 1 VHS tape, all reference content about other works by people involved with the production of the documentary, namely Clint Eastwood, Bruce Ricker, and Bill Charlap. Access to these items is available through the GSU Library's GIL-Find Catalog.
