The Bill Cousins collection of PATCO Local 321 materials consists of news clippings, periodicals, audio tapes, legal files, and correspondence. Most of the material covers the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization's strike of 1981.

Biographical Note
Bill Cousins worked as an air traffic controller in Detroit, Michigan, and was Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization Local 321 President from 1978-1981. In 1981, along with his co-workers, he went on strike for better pay and working conditions. He was terminated in the mass firing of striking air traffic controllers by the Reagan Administration in 1981, which also led to the dissolution of PATCO.
