Historical Note about the North Georgia Building and Trades Council

Founded in 1905 as the Atlanta Structural Trades Alliance, an amalgamation of local building and trade unions, the North Georgia Building and Trades Council (NGBTC) assumed its current name in 1974 after the Atlanta Alliance merged with the Macon Building Trades Department. The NGBTC represents the legal interests of building and trades unions throughout North Georgia, as well as promoting the livelihood of local building trades and settling jurisdictional disputes between unions.
