Scope and Content of the Collection
This collection consists of one folder of correspondence and greeting cards from the files of Hugh Mercer, Jr. The correspondence includes several letters from Johnny Mercer to both the senior and junior Hugh Mercer; the greeting cards include several Christmas cards from Johnny and Ginger Mercer and their children. Many of the cards and letters are undated. A second folder contains the text of an address given at the dedication of George A. Mercer Junior High School in Savannah in 1962, as well as the text of a response to the address, given by Johnny Mercer. A photograph from a 1973 party given in honor of Johnny Mercer at the home of Jean Bach in New York City completes the collection.
