Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Labor Songbooks Collection contains songbooks created for unions by the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations, the Industrial Workers of the World, and The International Ladies' Garment Workers Union, among others. Some songbooks were compiled and edited by labor schools and organizations contain labor and folk songs. The collection contains songbooks dated 1937 to 1988.

The Labor Songbooks collection is an artificial collection of printed songbooks containing labor songs (1937-1988). Materials are usually received by Special Collections along with donated manuscript collections.
