Scope and Content of the Collection
The Martha Hamilton Collection consists of some of Martha Hamilton's reporter notebooks, correspondence, newspaper clippings, "Eastern Shuffle: songs for the Eastern picketline" songbook, Eastern Airline's termination press release, and other artifacts from Eastern Airlines during the time of the Labor Unions strike from 1988-1991 and the subsequent shutdown. The collection also includes publicity materials from Trump Shuttle, stock holder information from Texas Air Corporation, and two videocassettes (VHS); A discussion with Frank Lorenzo and Pilot Video.

Biographical note about Martha M. Hamilton
Martha McNeil Hamilton graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971. The following year she began her journalism career at the Washington Post, reporting in the Metro section of the paper. She remained with the Post until 2006, where she had advanced to the position of assignment editor for Wall Street and corporate crime. In 2006 she started MarthaHamilton, Incorporated, writing and editing for several clients. These clients included AARP Bulletin Today, Columbia Journalism Review, Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce and others. She is also the author of several books, including Black & White & Red All Over: the Story of a Friendship. During her time with Washington Post, she reported on the Eastern Airline's labor strike (1989-1991) and Eastern's demise.
