Scope and Content of the Papers

Correspondence, publications, minutes and agendas, conference programs, news clippings and notes make up the MaryAnne Gaunt papers. The majority of the papers document Gaunt's work as committee chair of the Atlanta Women's Network (AWN) Program from 1987 to 1988, including invitations to the monthly programs, contact lists of possible program speakers, as well as AWN annual report 1987-1988. Also documented is her role as President of the League of Women voters of Atlanta/Fulton County (1983-1985) with meeting minutes, group publications and information on Title IX legislation. In addition, the papers include publications, songs and newspaper clippings relating to the Equal Rights Amendment, rape, abuse, harassment and the property rights of women. Of note are reports and publications, relating to the status of women's rights and gender gaps in Georgia.
