SRC: Textile Workers Union of America staff meeting, 1969
Scope and Content of the Series
Series II contains materials from Via's time as a labor consultant from 1956 to 1958 for the SRC, "a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization which works for racial equality and social and economic justice in the Southern United States through research and action which engages and transforms individuals, communities and institutions" (masthead of Southern Changes, Volume 19, Number 2, Summer 1997). This series' materials also reflect Via's directorship of the SRC's Labor Program (1965-1967) and Resources Development Center (1968-1972). Additional folders in this series relate to Via's posts as Program Officer and Coordinator of Education Task Force (1972-1974) and Program Officer and Director of [the] Research Team. Via's work, internally and externally performed at the SRC is detailed in correspondence and project files. This series also contains generic SRC materials, including annual meeting reports of the Council, sponsored project reports, and publications directed and funded by the Council. (The series is arranged alphabetically and then chronologically within each designation.)
